The program is targeted towards veterans and surviving spouses in Orange who necessitate consistent assistance from a caregiver or another individual to perform at least two essential daily tasks, such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and transferring. AmeriCare Plus proudly holds accreditation as a provider of Homemaker Home Health Aide Care through the Veterans Administration. Our collaboration extends to Veterans Administration offices situated in Hampton, Virginia; Richmond, Virginia; Salem, Virginia; and Raleigh, North Carolina.

Within this program framework, our dedicated Homemakers and Home Health Aides conduct home visits to provide crucial personal care services and aid with activities of daily living (ADL) for veterans. This service holds particular significance for veterans facing isolation or when their primary caregiver is under strain.

While our Homemakers and Home Health Aides may not hold nursing qualifications themselves, they operate under the supervision of registered nurses who assess the daily living needs of veterans. These services are seamlessly integrated with other Home and Community-Based Services, with tailored provisions for each location. Serving as a flexible alternative to nursing home care, these services provide vital respite care for veterans and their family caregivers within the familiar surroundings of their own homes.
